BMW just dropped fresh teaser shots of the eagerly awaited VDX Concept — and for the first time, it’s shed its camouflage. Making its grand public appearance at Auto Shanghai 2025, the Vision Driving Experience (VDX) hints at a bold, electrified future for BMW M.
BMW isn’t giving everything away just yet, but from what we’ve seen, the VDX might be M’s wildest machine ever. Heading to Shanghai for its big reveal between April 23 and May 2, this concept turns the Vision Neue Klasse idea into something way more extreme.
Rumor has it, there’s a 1,700 hp quad-motor setup hiding underneath — leaving the future dual-motor, sub-700 hp electric M3 "ZAO" in its dust when it lands in 2028.
The VDX may be a one-off for now, but it’s a bold preview of BMW M’s electrifying future! Unlike the current M Performance EVs like the i4 M50 and iX M70, the VDX hints at a no-holds-barred, fully electric M car that will take performance to the next level!
And for those still craving the roar of a combustion engine, don’t worry — the next-gen M3 “G84” will keep the legendary twin-turbo straight-six alive and kicking.
With the all-new Neue Klasse platform set to drive BMW’s electric revolution, the VDX gives us a tantalizing glimpse of what's coming. The future of BMW M is fast, fierce, and fully electrified — and it’s about to blow your mind!
